Zucchini is a cylindrical vegetable that  is usually either dark green or light green in colour, but yellow hybrids are also available.

Zucchini is always cooked before consumption. It can be steamed, fried or grilled. Grilled zucchini is a popular side dish. Zucchini is also used to fill rolls, in sandwiches, casseroles, in pancakes and muffins. The Zucchini flower is also consumed. It can be used in salads or soups, or stuffed with vegetables or meat and fried.

Zucchini have high levels of potassium, vitamin A and manganese.
